The Guardian Australia

I wrote for The Guardian Australia about a burned apple in my garden and what the climate emergency means for our own backyard…

“Children born this year will have been conceived in the midst of a mass extinction event, and will reach old age as the worst of the climate emergency hits.”

I wrote this article after seeing an apple in my garden burn following the hottest day ever recorded in an Australian capital, and the hottest summer our nation has recorded. It is a reflection on how a heating climate will affect our local environment and the decisions we make about the future.

It was an honour to write this piece for The Guardian Australia in the lead up to September’s global Strike for Climate events.
