September caught me by surprise and this August update is a wee bit late, but here is a summary of my recent writing and events, regardless…

I have been working on a new book that will be released before the end of the year. The book is a minicomic and I’ve spent the last week or two drafting the final script before lettering begins. A book announcement will come by the end of the month.

I reviewed Paramore’s latest album After Laughter.

I reviewed Kid Phantom #1 at australiancomicsjournal.com.

I am also writing on Medium now. The links for some of my past online work have gone dead so I have begun collating certain pieces on the platform and will use it for new writing in future.

I was also invited to speak about professional writing at a careers week event at my old high school. The topics involved the death of print media, listicles, plagiarism, wage stagnation, workers rights, and, in order to make it all marginally less depressing, the Doctor Who finale (depending on how depressing you thought the Doctor who finale was or was not).

Also, for those tangentially interested, I read High Fidelity by Nick Hornby again, Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman, and I am currently reading Bliss by Peter Carey.
